More than 2.5 million people visit the Towpath Trail annually.
The Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail and National Heritage Area are drivers of heritage/recreational tourism and economic development in our region.
In 2024, the Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition provided exceptional programs and events, cultivated new stewards for resource conservation and engaged neighborhood residents along the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail. From moving forward with plans to develop the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail in Tuscarawas County, to creative engagement in our volunteer programs, we continued to remain relevant and resilient with support from our communities.
From the members of our organization to those who volunteer their time for important trail projects, the Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition could not operate without the support of our generous individual and corporate donors. Your contributions continue the development of the Ohio & Erie Canalway National Heritage Area, Towpath Trail, connector trails and public spaces.
