Tom works with the Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition and directs the Canoe Ride program at Summit Lake during the summer months. He has lived in Akron all his life and spent 30 years in the City of Akron’s Traffic Engineering Division, in which he oversaw the daily operations of the sign installation and road marking crews. He is a graduate of Leadership Akron’s NEXT Class 6 and a former board member at Summit Artspace, where he remains actively involved. He serves as the Executive Director of the Summit Cycling Center, which builds and maintains the red bicycles for the Akron area’s Summit Bikeshare program.
